Easter Egg Display Crochet Pattern

No Comments on Easter Egg Display Crochet Pattern
Remembering my Grandmother and her love of thread crochet is what inspired the Easter Egg Display Pattern. Each year my Mom displays a large egg with Easter trinkets inside that my Grandma made. It wouldn’t be Easter at Mom’s without that out on the entryway table. I wanted to bring some of that into my own home and so I created a much smaller version with more detailed design and I hope you like it to.

The Easter Egg Display features a chevron pattern around the main part of the egg with a simple pattern on the top and bottom. The bottom is made flat so it can stand by itself. The pattern includes instructions on how to starch (stiffen) the final egg using household items. The Easter Egg Display stands about 10″ tall and is about 8″ wide. What a fun gift for Easter or a great memory your kids can have as you bring out the Display each year.

I have received so many comments about the Teddy Bear Set, I mean seriously, it is so cute!

I had to create some more with and the requests came from all of you. I am excited to show you the Bunny & Fox Sets. They have been shipped off to be photographed so you will see they are just as darling soon.

Both of these crochet pattern comes with complete instructions for this adorable Stuffy and matching Bonnet. The completed bunny stuffy is about 8″ tall, from ear tips to bottom of feet.
The completed fox stuffy is about 7″ tall.

The Bunny Bonnet is a simple design with a ridged/cable effect that frames the face, this adds just a touch of character and strength to help hold the ears up on the bonnet. The ears are flexible and can stand straight up or with a simple fold they can bend downwards. The bonnet comes in sizes from newborn up to child.

The Fox bonnet is also a simple design but has a criss cross design that begins about a third of the way back from the front of the bonnet. The criss crosses are only for character and add a lot of it! The bonnet comes in sizes from newborn up to child.
This is a lovely set for any Mom to be,
any child for Easter,
a first Birthday (or any birthday for that matter),

Free Mustache Cowl Crochet Pattern

A Cute, Fun, Unique, Sure to Make You SMILE Cowl!
The mustache cowl is all those wonderful things and is a free pattern to you from
This fun cowl is quick to make and would be fun in any colors. I personally like the vibrant and bright colors for the dreary days of winter. I mean seriously, we haven’t seen sunshine for almost 3 weeks. I needed something bright and colorful to work on!

Save this pattern in your Ravelry Account for easy access.

For the cowl, it is a very basic crochet pattern and can easily be adjusted for any size. I made the child size but alternative stitch counts in parenthesis would be for an adult size.
For your gauge check use Hook K = 9 rows and 12 hdc = 4 inches square

Using Worsted Weight Yarn and Crochet Hook K (6.5 mm)

Work 65 (80) foundationless hdc, join in first hdc making sure not to twist, this will form a ring (tutorial here-also know as a foundation hdc- I know that doesn’t make much sense)
Row 2-18 (24): Ch 2, hdc in each st around, join, after last row is completed,
Fasten off and bury all ends, You will need to also sew/join the bottom of the first and last hdc from the foundation row.

Laying flat the completed measurements for the cowl are:
Child Size = 11 inches wide X 8 inches high
Adult Size = 15 inches wide X 10 1/2 inches high

For the Mustache I used the pattern by Tutus & Tea Parties. Again I used worsted weight yarn but used a crochet hook K (6.5 mm) instead of what was recommended. The pattern is very easy to follow and works up quick.
I sewed on the mustache to the cowl so that the top of the mustache was just below the 3rd row from the top (the mustache curl tips was about 1 1/2 rows from the top).
Look how cute and easy they turned out. This pattern is sure to be a hit for whoever receives the finished cowl and will turn heads and make all who see it smile!
I hope you enjoyed the pattern and decide to follow Sweet Potato 3 Patterns on facebook for patterns, tutorials and lots of crochet fun!

Soccer Ball Crochet Hat Pattern

No Comments on Soccer Ball Crochet Hat Pattern

When I started selling crochet hats back in 2011 I had a custom request for a soccer ball hat. I searched high and low for a pattern. The only request was for it to not be a plain white hat with black shapes sewn on. I was having to luck!
So I grabbed my hooks, yarn and my sons soccer ball. I was determined to figure something out. My first hat probably took close to 12 hours to figure out-I came really close to giving up. But the picture above is proof that it turned out and was a hit!
I listed that hat and sold 2 the first day. The even more exciting part was that I also received 3 messages from other crocheters asking where I got the pattern. Once I said I had made it up, they all requested to purchase it. The thought of selling patterns had not crossed my mind.
Well, it took awhile to decipher my notes, decide on a layout and have a few friends test the pattern for me. It was such a success I even branched out and started an entire pattern designing business.
Thank you  for all your support over the last 3 1/2 years. I have reviewed and updated this pattern and it is ready for all of you. It comes in sizes from newborn up to child. It also includes options to add a brim or earflaps (see images below).
I am releasing it for $2 (on Craftsy & Ravelry) through Tuesday February 3, 2015.
