The bonnet is made to have floppy ears. You can use traditional/regular yarn for the inside of the ears (shown in photo above), or you can choose to use a more fuzzy yarn, like Bernat Happy, for the inside like the  photo below.

The Bow Tie is a cute addition and can be used with any outfit. The bow tie is made to button in the back of the neck. The button is adjustable so you can make it fit any child. It is very important to make the neck band extra long and not button on too tight.

My favorite part of this set is the britches! There is just something classic about the longer shorts, designed to fit to the knees, with suspenders. I love the old fashion look. The britches are designed to wear over a diaper and can be tied in front to help them stay up. Simply add the pom for a tail and it is the perfect touch.

Now those pieces are all adorable, but I couldn’t stop there. Every bunny need a cute little carrot to nibble on. The carrot is about 8″ tall and works up really quick.

Well, now, that is enough cuteness for one day. Grab this fun pattern and crochet it up for your little one. Share you photo on my facebook page so I can gush over the cuteness overload.

Snow Drifter Hat Pattern & Faux Fur Pom Tutorial

I am so excited about my newest hat pattern release, the Snow Drifter Hat. The beautiful, fun and unique texture of this hat is very eye catching. A simple little pinch pleat on the brim of the hat is a cute touch of charm to the hat. The puff stitches that weave together create an appealing texture that you will enjoy creating as you crochet this hat that is perfect for a day in the snow.

Faux Fur Pom Tutorial

A couple weeks ago I ordered a couple online to add to a new hat design. I was so excited to receive them only to open the package and see that they were twice the size I was hoping for. A few of my wonderful fans on facebook had mentioned that they made their poms. So, I started to research how to make them. WOW… It is so easy!

I quickly made a new one and wanted to share with all of you how easy this really is. You can buy the faux fur at most crafts stores. Cut the fur into an oval about 3″ X 4″.

You may have to pull the loose fur off the edges. Doing this now will make the pom cleaner and shed free when you are done. Using a tapestry/yarn needle thread around the pom. These stitches do not need to be exact or uniform, they will be completely hidden when you are done. Add a small ball of fiber fill to the center of the oval.

Tie ends of yarn together and pull tight. Continue to pull, making sure the fiber fill is all enclosed inside the pom. Once the pom is completely closed, tie another knot to secure. Just like that you are done.

Use the yarn ends to attach the pom to a hat or other fun accessory. Tada, so cute!!!

This is the new Snow Drifter Hat design that I knew I wanted a faux fur pom on. Isn’t it fabulous!

Hats are one of the essentials for cooler days, since we get to wear them so often it is fun to have a selection of unique ones in your stash for different days. It is a must to have one with cables, therefore, I designed the Cable Twist Hat .

Cable Twist Hat

One of the reasons I love this design so much is that it appeals to everyone: men, women and children of all ages. It is a classic design that will never go out of style and works for practically any occassion.

The hat is designed using a light weight (#3) yarn. I decided to make my samples using Loops & Threads Sugarspun yarn in the color, Blue Jean. I love the softness of this yarn and lovely it works up.

The Cable Twist hat can be made with or without the earflaps. Each way has a completely different look to it resulting endless possibilities in making the hat for different folks.

The hat is pretty basic but the cable running along the base is what really makes it stand out! The pattern includes photos to explain the correct stitch placement as the cable is made.
