Darling Animal Applique Crochet Patterns

My popular Sleep Tight Teddy Bear Blanket is one of the cutest additions to any nursery. However, Teddy Bears may not be the theme of your decor. So have some fun and switch it up to customize the blanket with other Darling Animal Appliques.

I rounded up some of my favorite Darling Animal Appliques. These would all be ideal to add to your Sleep Tight Blanket or to any other blanket, sweater, bag, or more.

If you use any of the appliques, I do recommend you double check the sizing. Appliques can be made slightly larger or smaller by adjusting your hook up or down a size. Have fun making them and please share your projects in my interactive facebook group: Crochet & Conversations

How to Sew on Appliques

I created this tutorial on how to sew on appliques to your crochet piece. This technique makes it so you cannot see the applique or stitches on the the reverse side. This will give your project a professional look.

The bonnet is made to have floppy ears. You can use traditional/regular yarn for the inside of the ears (shown in photo above), or you can choose to use a more fuzzy yarn, like Bernat Happy, for the inside like the  photo below.

The Bow Tie is a cute addition and can be used with any outfit. The bow tie is made to button in the back of the neck. The button is adjustable so you can make it fit any child. It is very important to make the neck band extra long and not button on too tight.

Bunny in Britches Bow Tie

My favorite part of this set is the britches! There is just something classic about the longer shorts, designed to fit to the knees, with suspenders. I love the old fashion look. The britches are designed to wear over a diaper and can be tied in front to help them stay up. Simply add the pom for a tail and it is the perfect touch.

Now those pieces are all adorable, but I couldn’t stop there. Every bunny need a cute little carrot to nibble on. The carrot is about 8″ tall and works up really quick.

Well, now, that is enough cuteness for one day. Grab this fun pattern and crochet it up for your little one. Share you photo on my facebook page so I can gush over the cuteness overload.

I have received so many comments about the Teddy Bear Set, I mean seriously, it is so cute!

I had to create some more with and the requests came from all of you. I am excited to show you the Bunny & Fox Sets. They have been shipped off to be photographed so you will see they are just as darling soon.

Both of these crochet pattern comes with complete instructions for this adorable Stuffy and matching Bonnet. The completed bunny stuffy is about 8″ tall, from ear tips to bottom of feet.
The completed fox stuffy is about 7″ tall.

The Bunny Bonnet is a simple design with a ridged/cable effect that frames the face, this adds just a touch of character and strength to help hold the ears up on the bonnet. The ears are flexible and can stand straight up or with a simple fold they can bend downwards. The bonnet comes in sizes from newborn up to child.

The Fox bonnet is also a simple design but has a criss cross design that begins about a third of the way back from the front of the bonnet. The criss crosses are only for character and add a lot of it! The bonnet comes in sizes from newborn up to child.
This is a lovely set for any Mom to be,
any child for Easter,
a first Birthday (or any birthday for that matter),
or other special occasion.
