Crochet stitch combinations can all portray a different feeling. Some are light, airy, whimsical and leave you feeling like spring. While others can be rich in texture, bulky or cozy and makes you dream of wrapping up in a comfy blanket. My hope is that this uniformed crochet stitch brings on a cozy feel that is streamlined and structured.

Uniformed 4 row repeat

This stitch was designed to be included as a section of a blanket CAL and I think it is going to be loved by so many. I didn’t want to design traditional cables but I do love the deepness the cable brings to crochet. So, this is a unique spin on a cable crochet which also includes a streamlined ridge that runs horizontally through the rows.

Tranquility Blanket CAL

I love crochet alongs, you build a great community and work on a project along side other crocheters. This is my 3rd Blanket crochet along that has been a collaboration with other crochet designers-it’s so fun to see different creative minds merge into one fabulous project!

Tranquility Blanket CAL

The Tranquility Blanket Crochet Along is a Free event hosted by Made by Gootie and The Loophole Fox, but it is a collaboration of many designers. Organized as a blog hop, you will travel from blog to blog to get all the free tutorials including photo of step by step stitches and videos.

However, if you don’t like the idea of visiting everyone’s blogs and just want a pdf file, our amazing hosts have put together an eBook just for you!

Both options are available through the links below:

If you’re wondering what section is designed by me, it is part 11 and is the featured stitch in this post. It’s a uniformed cozy stitch that works so well in a blanket.

Skill Level

This uniformed 4 row repeat is an intermediate level. All the stitches used are pretty basic, but you will be working into chain spaces for one row and into the center/front bars on another row. This may sound complicated, but it is simple when following the full photo tutorial and video tutorials provided to help you master the pattern.

Materials Needed

  • Crochet Hook H (5.00 mm) for the CAL – or use whatever is recommended on the yarn label for other projects.
  • Yarn – worsted (#4) weight yarn for the CAL – in the samples and video I used Mary Maxim Value yarn)

Gauge Information

If you are just testing this stitch out, don’t worry about your gauge. Just enjoy learning the steps and take the time to enjoy the process.

However, if you are here to make the Tranquility Blanket from the CAL, you will want to make sure your gauge has been met for the Crochet Along. The gauge has been specified for the blanket in the main blog post linked at the bottom of this post.

Uniformed Stitch Pattern Instructions

This stitch combination has been written to work for the Tranquility Blanket CAL and is made in multiples of 6 stitches. You can adjust your stitch count to work with your own project, but the stitch count at the end of the rows is specific to the CAL. The stitch count specified for the CAL and includes 2 blanket sizes. These blanket sizes are represented in the stitch count at the end of the row. If you are customizing your stitches for a different project, your counts will be different.

The stitches at the end of the row are for the lapgan size (first number) and for the throw blanket size (second number)
