When I decide to brainstorm new crochet patterns it is usually because I have been inspired by something. A few weeks ago, I was going over my top selling pattern over the last 5 years, there were a handful that really stood out. I quickly decided to pull one of the stitches from one pattern and a design from another and look what happened, The Cross My Heart Hooded Cocoon!

I am showing off the new crochet pattern for babies and I am a little obsessed with how cute this turned out. This makes a darling gift at any bridal shower and will be the show-stopper!

The Cross My Heart Stitch

The richly textured stitches are from my very popular Cross My Heart patterns that I designed awhile ago. The most popular Cross My Heart patterns are the headband and scarf you can see on my daughter (who is now 14-boy time flies).

Sweet Potato 3

This design was so popular I ended up designing a vest, hat, fingerless gloves and a triangle scarf. You can find all these designs and links to more information by click below:

The Hooded Cocoon Design

As I already mentioned, this design was a combination of two of my top selling crochet patterns. The next design was the Button Up Waves Hooded Cocoon, this has been in my top 5 patterns in the last 5 years! That tells me, you all love the simplicity, uniqueness and design that I wanted to recreate!

Cross My Heart Hooded Cocoon Details

Now that you know what inspired the design, I want to share all the details about it. The crochet pattern comes with 3 baby sizes including: 0-3 month, 3-6 month, and 6-12 months.

The cocoon is made as one piece, and the pattern includes lots of stitch photo tutorials and finishing photos tutorials. There is also a link to help explain exactly how to work the stitch. Having the combination of written, photo and video tutorials will ensure that you fully understand the process to make the hooded cocoon.
