I have always enjoyed gifting handmade blankets at baby showers. They are always show-stoppers and admired by everyone. But, let’s be honest, we don’t always have the time to pour into a full-sized baby blanket. The hooded cocoon is a perfect alternative project!
I made a hooded cocoon years ago and gifted it at a shower. Everyone, especially the mom was obsessed with it. So, I dove in and designed a couple more. The woven shell is my latest hooded cocoon and it features a lovely woven shell texture that makes it feel so cozy and precious.
This cocoon combines style and practicality. The woven shell stitch provides a unique texture while maintaining warmth and flexibility.
Skill Level
This pattern is suitable for intermediate crocheters. If you’re comfortable with basic stitches and learning new techniques, you’ll love mastering the woven shell stitch – it alternates groups of stitches and cross-over stitches creating a dense, textured pattern. Woven Shells Cocoon Pattern Details
