The Harlequin Infant Sleeper is a perfect crochet project to gift when you just don’t have the time to make a blanket. A sleeper is a way to keep those babies warm, just slip it on over a onsie.
The detailed Harlequin, or stacking diamonds, pattern is a popular look for babies and in nursery decor. It adds a whimsical and charming look that will be adorned on a precious newborn. This is a must make item that will become a favorite to gift at showers.
The Harlequin Infant Sleeper Pattern Details
The sleeper pattern is made using a finer worsted weight or a dk weight yarn (just make sure you match gauge to have the correct finished size). In the photographed sleeper, I used Baby Wonder yarn by Herrschners, in the color, naptime.
Other supplies you will need include a crochet hook H (5.00 mm), measuring tape, scissors, tapestry needle, stitch markers and two 1″ buttons.
The completed size of the sleeper is 0-3 months old. It is designed to fit loosely and is long so it will fit children that are different lengths.
See it in Self Striping Yarn!
I was so excited to see the finished sleeper from one of my testers, Laura from Simple Stitches. She used a DK weight yarn called Ice Yarns Magic Light. I think the sleeper is gorgeous on her little Eliza, she is such a doll and the stripes look beautiful.
