2017 Cancer Challenge Day 30: Darcy’s Crochet Creations

Only 2 days left! Where did the month go? Are you keeping up with the Cancer Challenge? If you are behind no worries, I just ask that you have the hats made and donated by the end of 2017. So, no worries, you still have over 2 months to complete them all 🙂

Day 30 of the Cancer Challenge: Darcy’s Crochet Creations

For our design today, I am humbled to hear that the hat was designed in honor of a friend that Darcy lost to cancer this year. As we make this hat for someone currently going through cancer it is a good reflection on what the receipient may be going through. Darcy’s Crochet Creations is sponsoring today with the Sabrina’s Slouch.

Cancer Challenge

The Sabrina’s Slouch is made using worsted weight yarn and comes in sizes from toddler to adult. The design with the stitches is so fun with the self striping yarn. What kind of yarn and color would you make yours in?

2017 Cancer Challenge Day 29: The Firefly Hook

As we begin Day 29 of the Cancer Challenge, I am almost sad that we are nearing it’s end. However, I am excited to see our final numbers. We have had so many lovely designs, made with a variety of yarns and meet many new designers. And today, we continue with another amazing new designer!

Cancer Challenge Day 29: The Firefly Hook

A couple weeks ago, I was just perusing Raverly and come upon a fun design. So, I clicked on it and ended up browsing through an entire pattern shop I hadn’t heard of. I quickly fell in love with Abbey’s design style and had to ask her to join the challenge. I am so excited to share with you today, The Firefly Hook, and her amazing design she is going to contribute today, Franklin Street Beanie.

  Cancer Challenge

The Franklin Street Beanie is a classic slouch design that is eye catching with the textures. Reading straight from the description:

This beanie is a true celebration of the warmth and comfort of Maria’s Cafe and the diverse culture alive around Franklin Street.

I not only want to make this beanie, but I want to visit the Cafe on Franklin Street! The beanie looks to be soft and warm, can be made for men or women and will be an amazing contribution to your donation box.

Cancer Challenge

Are you ready to make your pledge? All you have to do to pledge, is crochet one hat for a cancer patient or survivor using this pattern.  If you are willing to make that pledge you can get the Franklin Street Beanie pattern for free.

2017 Cancer Challenge Day 28: Sweet Potato Crochet Creations

A fabulous start to the weekend as Saturday begins! I’ll be spending the last Saturday of baseball season at the ball fields, after game awards, Halloween costume prep and then I finally will get some crochet time. My goal is to get 2 more hats done for the cancer challenge this weekend. I hope your pledges are coming along nicely too.

Cancer Challenge Day 28: Sweet Potato Crochet Creations

For day 28 of the Cancer Challenge, we have another long time contributor, Sweet Potato Crochet Creations. She designed a brand new hat release for us today and it is so darling. I love the Rosemary Beanie with the darling flowers attached to the side of the hat. Or, leave the flowers off for a masculine look.

Cancer Challenge

The Rosemary Beanie comes in sizes for: toddler, child and adult. Made in a worsted weight yarn the hat will work up quick and keep you warm. The textured stripes make this hat appeal to the eye and creates a nice design.

2017 Cancer Challenge Day 26: Pattern Paradise

Fall is in the air! I love all the cool and chilly evening and the warmth of the sun during the day. It is also a perfect time of year for crocheting hats which is one reason I love this challenge. I cannot wait to make todays hat, I already have some perfect oatmeal yarn with grey fleck in it, oh, I am so excited to start.

Cancer Challenge Day 26: Pattern Paradise

For day 26 our featured designer is, Pattern Paradise, The designer behind this lovely hat is Maria, and she is offering the Dana’s Dream hat for the Cancer Challenge. Maria designed this hat for her dear friend’s daughter who is going through chemo for breast cancer.  What a special hat.

I love how versatile it is:

The Dana’s Dream hat is fabulous. I love how when you add a flower it looks so feminine. Then add stripes and contrating colors and all of a sudden it is very masculine. I am sure you will love playing with different colors to get differnt looks with this design.
